Message from Owner

I love this bird so much and am devastated that he got out. His wings were never clipped because I have an indoor aviary. I had him outside his cage and taking him to the aviary. A family member forgot he was outside his cage and opened the back door. Before I could react, he took flight. I have his cage outside hoping he will see it. He would not know how to survive outside, please help me to get him back home.

I posted in the Next Door neighborhood app. I just recently got my Zoey back. But that app is where the person she flew too saw my missing posts. I know exactly what one is feeling. 😞😓😩 I hope everyone shares. Also repost in the community groups. Contact the Shelter. And even hand written missing notes for gas stations. The more shares the better.

Posted on Lost and Found birds of the US. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DfLzj6Njw/?mibextid=wwXIfr We are so sorry to hear your bird is missing. Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*
