RIDLEY is adorable. Now let’s find him. He will be very nervous and likely hiding not far from your home. When you’re out searching this evening take a flashlight with you. The light will shine off his eyes and makes it easier to locate him. Look under every veranda and bush and any tiny place he may be hiding. Ask your neighbours to search their garage and under their porch or perhaps they will allow you to. He may have also climbed up a tree, so look there as well. Take a bag of treats and shake them while calmly calling his name. Put up posters and contact shelters in your area every 3 days to see if he has been turned in. If you haven’t yet gotten him micro chipped, please do, so should this happen again he can be returned to you. GOOD LUCK ❤

STAY CALM & start the search and any applicable ideas listed below asap 1-Remember to never chase /run after a lost cat as it can scare them further out of their area. Even if you are the owner, a truly scared Cat is not thinking right & might instinctually run if anyone approaches. If you see him, Let cat come to you as much as possible or set up a monitored humane trap . If you can, leave the back door/ garage and or window open in your house for them to come back! 2. Call out cat's name from ONE spot few times PER HOUR, every hour . Calm Calling cat consistently from one spot may help kitty find home if it’s disoriented. It should be tried ASAP from the first moment . Along with leaving the door open . Around evening call your cat in a lcalm and intelligible voice for a full 5 minutes, calm and try to do this 3 times per hour, At a minimum call your cat 10 times a night, This helps the cat locate its home, especially if they got spooked, hurt, or disoriented. Don’t give up after a few weeks . Keep calling . Repeat this method night after night. It may take days or even weeks, 3. Typically the cat is going to try to return the same way it left so leave an opportunity for it to come back, especially at dusk and over night!! Maybe leaving a window or door or garage door slightly open with you monitoring from the inside for the cat to return on its own at night. This is common. If you have a garage door, leave it slightly open 24/7 . Leave some dirty used clothes and stinky shoes out for the smell to guide kitty home. Empty the contents of your vacuum cleaner in back yard. Always Leave water out for him/her. Put posters and stick flyers in mailboxes and under doors Matts with picture as a neighbour could have your cat. Flyers flyers and more flyers , door door flyers , and street neon street posters . Knock on neighbours' doors to ask , don’t be shy. Ask them if they AND you can check under their decks, sheds, RVs, in bushes, under cars, hoods, backyards, and in their garages. Ask if you can check yourself nightly. (Do this every night and early in the morning.) Walk around with a flashlight at night and even day as cat's eyes will reflect the light! Keep shaking the treat bag and listen for faint meowing. Bring a pillow case in case you need to scruff her and carry her home . Usually lost cats don't go far, are quiet, and hiding within 6-10 houses radius from where they were lost. If they are missing for more than a week try putting posters even further from you one block radius. cats may hide in silence for 3-5 days and come out for water and food when it's very quiet And they get desperate or brave enough Usually between 10:00 pm - 5:00 am. This is a good time to be calling out your kitty's name. Repeat the search night after night, as necessary. Usually come out after rain. They will probably to return way they escaped- try to leave door, window, shed or garage open. 3- Check these links: 3 https://www. homeatlastrescue.ca/my-cat-is-missing/ 3.1 Www. catsinthebag.org for great tips for finding lost cat t 3.2 Lost cat tips: watch this https://www. facebook.com/FrontStreetAnimalShelter/videos/388310901737884 3.3 https://www. dailypaws.com/cats-kittens/cat-safety-tips/how-to-find-a-lost-cat If you don’t have a camera, one unique way is to Sprinkle flour around the deck and porch to check for foot prints if no snow or mud is there. Check your local SPCA, shelters, cat rescues, and social media sites. Go into the shelters as not all cats make the website! It may take several days, to a few weeks to find your cat. Lost Cat Tips Male or female Not all of this tips is will applicable to every situation. CHECK THE HOUSE WELL . Unfinished bat inside couches behind dressers inside of dresser drawers, because sometimes they crawl behind the dresser . If Outside : Shes / he’s may try and come home on their own in the middle of the night. Usually through the same way they got out but they can run to the backyard if they got out from the front door. It might take them a few days to get brave enough, but they might try and come home. Therefore if you actually saw her run out You need to leave someway for them to come in on their own overnight. If you don’t have any other pets, please consider leaving the back and front doors slightly open over night or a window and sleep in the living room if you wish. They usually try to come in on their own at night at least once esp in the beginning few days. When checking outside , use a strong high lumen flashlight even in the day time ((not a cell phone flashlight)) to search underneath deck , patio , sheds day or night use a flashlight to look for glowing eyes. She’s / hes probably hiding within 6 house radius. Even diagonally.. Don’t be shy, Check peoples back yards, ask them to go Look yourself with a light under their bbqs decks etc. scared and lost cats won’t go far, they’re usually hiding very close by . When checking bring some treats that they like and lead with your voice so they hear familiar sound before you enter the yard. If the cat is extremely skittish, it might run away before you enter the yard without you even knowing who it is . cameras are really important , it’s good to have the whole Community monitoring cameras, or for you to set up cameras around peoples homes and especially your home ! You can purchase cheap Wi-Fi cameras that use SD cards from Amazon for like $45 and connect them to people’s Wi-Fi and monitor them from an app on your phone. I did that when my cat went missing I bought about four and have them all around the neighborhood, with food in front of them so I can see if my cat was coming to eat. You can also buy spypoint Flex or Tacticam reveal cellular cameras that don’t require access to anybody’s Wi-Fi and you can place some around the neighbourhood as well. Also available on Amazon but much more expensive. And require a subscription about $15 per month. But they work amazingly as well and you can leave them where they don’t need to be plugged in and don’t need to connect anybody’s Wi-Fi. If your cat likes treats , Call him/her regularly shake Temptations treats , or even pour her kibble into a an aluminum bowl repeatedly from higher up to make a loud noise of kibble pouring. If you do this from your backyard at night, she will hear it even a few houses down. Try sitting outside on the curb in the middle of the night or shaking Temptations treat bag or pouring dry kibble back-and-forth in a bowl talking to her as if she’s there. One time a friends Cat just ran up to her when she was doing that . Especially when it’s very very quiet at night in the middle of the night, doing the same thing from your porch or from your backyard, depending on which direction is most likely to return from to encourage him to start walking back towards the house. But most importantly, you need have a way to monitor if she’s trying to come in on her own. Most of the time they will try for a first little while to come in by themself in the middle of the night when it’s extremely quiet like around 1 - 4AM . when it’s very quiet and no cars on the road leave the door slightly open and braced . No other animals will come in don’t worry. Try to get a Wi-Fi camera for your back yard if you have no cameras to see if they are coming around the house and leave any doors open overnight. Wifi Cameras only $70 Best Buy and connect to your Wi-Fi and your phone. Wyze cameras from Amazon are 45$ micro SD are 15 leave food and water in front of a door ring camera to be monitored , even water with catnip in it in front of the door cam or neighbours door cams if you dont have one. MONITOR by cam to see who is eating and don’t feed too most to not attract other cats . You can see if she’s coming for food or water. Talk to all the neighbors, any houses that have security cameras and to speak with them and leave them an image of the cat and ask them so if they are OK leaving some treats and water in front of their cameras, throughout the day and at night, and maybe give them a bag of Temptations each. And have them just put some food out for a few days and a few nights , not a lot just a couple of treats here and there and see if he will emerge. If they are not willing to put food, ask them to leave water with catnip in it. A lot of people have ring cams, door cans, or backyard cameras, and if they had a picture or a flyer of him and an opportunity to help they might take it. Post on NextDoor app and any other local fb groups. Not just lost and found groups . This helps a lot to raise awareness and get you a sighting. You need to do a lot of printed handouts and go door to door knocking and leaving the handouts with people on your street and over one street both sides. Ask people to leave the handouts on the fridge for a couple of weeks. Add Posters to light poles around your block and on community mail boxes. Think 300 door to door handouts and 40 posters. Use page protectors from Dollarama to keep them waterproof. Go door to door knocking asking people check their garages ,sheds , backyards , security cams and ask if you can go into their yards to check under the decks/shed etc

Phone Mississauga Animal Services to report him missing in case he’s found and turned in. Put up posters all over the neighbourhood. Go out and walk the area at night while calling for him and shaking a bag of treats. They can hear you better at night and usually aren’t too far from home. Good luck!
