Leave an open access like an attached garage cracked about 8 inches 24/7. If the cat is left alone they will attempt to get back in when it’s dark, especially early am.

When it gets dark keep lights outside low and sit down outside the door. Soft familiar calls. Walking around can keep them in hiding. She’s not far and will want to come back when she feels safe. Key is to lure and make her feel safe to come out of hiding.

Please file a missing cat report with the Norfolk Animal Care Center. If Montana is chipped, make sure the registry has your current contact information. Check the shelter frequently. Tonight after 10PM go out on your yard with a bag of kitty treats and a flashlight. Walk around your yard quietly calling your cats name & thank shaking the kitty treats bag. Use the flashlight to look in the bushes to see if your cat is hiding. See you tomorrow. Print flyers with your cats picture and your contact information and take around to your neighbors, asking them to call you if they see your cat. Also ask them if they’ve been in their shed, outbuilding or garage since your cat has been missing cats go in these places to feel safe and when the owner closes the door they cannot get out. You cannot hear cat crying to get out of a structure unless you are standing next to it. Look under porches, decks, and any structure with an open crawlspace.
