Message from Owner

Hey Cambridge area friends, this is my Smushy.🥹 I got him as a kitten on Christmas Eve of 2021 and tested positive for COVID the day after Christmas that year. I stayed in bed with him that whole two weeks, snuggling and playing with him until he’d fall asleep, and he has been with me ever since. He has never once shown any interest in going outside nor has he ever been loose outside, but a couple of days ago he got out, and no one has seen him. This cat means so much to me, and I am holding out hope that he’s hiding away somewhere nearby (we are outside of Rockdale, near the intersection of B and 73)! If you see him around, please let me know. You can message me here or text me. I wouldn’t recommend approaching him as he will most likely run off. His litterbox is outside, so hopefully he will be able to sniff his way ! If anyone has any other suggestions for how to help him find his way, please feel free to message me or comment! ❤️

Try setting up a live trap with smelly canned cat food and a blanket or bed that has your and his scent on it, put up flyers with his picture and to contact you if seen. Check your local shelter in person at least once a week. Don't give up it can take weeks or months.

Last Sunday we were out for a drive and saw a yellow cat going into a corn field and I said that cat is out hunting for mice. Now I see this and the location is about right. Good luck and I hope she is found soon 🙏

I have seen your post before! Just have to tell you, last Friday, my husband and I were eating at Culvers in Cottage Grove! ( out toward the interstate) One of the guys ( Danny) who we know as he has worked there for a long time! , told us that this cat that has been coming there each in the late afternoon, always looking for food! Friendly, but kind of skiddish so can’t catch it! Hopefully it’s your cat!? Worth checking ?
