Gretchen Polmanteer sometimes people give up on them and let them loose or stop looking for them or don't look far enough. We used to volunteer with a husky rescue (rescue is now closed) and we personally found 3 separate huskies over the course of several years. They are amazing dogs but very different from other breeds and too many people just see that they are beautiful without researching the breed.

Alicia Manlove I found a wanderer myself outside of Houston. Several posts, letting local animal control know and leaving our number, and driving around. Still nothing. And knowing they can travel far, i don't know where else to look.

Karen Sable Cortez They are well known as escape artists, often have a poor sense of direction and don't make it back home. They also commonly are not street smart with respect to traffic and they can run very far in a relatively short period of time. There is a saying that a loose husky is a lost husky.

I’ve literally seen five of these same kind of dogs missing. How is that possible people keep losing this kind of dog, so many?
