Message from Owner

Affectionate and loved. Mochi showed up in our grge in June 2024, and is an indoor/outdoor cat. Any leads would be deeply appreciated. She's just been missing about 5 hours since her morning feeding time, but she's punctual (and vocal) about being fed. I've canvassed the area around our hse, so far without success. Microchipped (with an older photo here):

I recently trapped a cat (named Stubie) that has been lost for over a year!! STILL within a few blocks from home ...don’t give up. Continue to take action in person … 🐱💜Dear guardian🐱💜My heart breaks for you …and glad you aren’t giving up on your sweet angel. Continue checking your shelter/s online daily and in person weekly..keep posting updates online ..REPLACE FLYERS posted up on lampposts in your neighborhood several blocks out from where kitty went missing. PRINT more flyers to tape directly onto front doors (using painter’s tape) of your neighbors from where kitty initially went missing - REMIND neighbors your kitty is still missing and to continue checking their RING / security cameras. Neighbors will Not do anything if they see a cat outside - thinking the cat is fine - most likely an indoor /outdoor cat(cats are such amazing groomers and look ‘fine’ to the untrained eye) so FLYERs and TALKING to neighbors is KEY - ask them to check any storage space where they live - anywhere a cat can potentially hide. Continue to leave WET food and water in dish/bowl every SUNSET by the escape point with a motion activated camera AIMED at the food. Never leave food in the can - it will CUT mouths and tongues. And If other hungry cats eat it then it’s not a waste. You are doing a good thing. There are so many lost/abandoned cats out there. And cats watch other cats so your cat might discover the food source too. I’ve had guardians finally spot their cat on camera after several months of being ‘lost’ and then they performed a stakeout and TRAPPED their kitty by using a humane trap and monitoring it nearby.. Continue to walk around slowly late night / early mornings calling sweetly for kitty …CALMLY call for kitty walking back toward home where you leave the food/camera...Search under cars and bushes while using a flashlight to catch the reflection of your cat’s eyes. Don’t give up. Lost cats are found after months and month by determined guardians who keep taking physical action. Hang in there …it’s not easy…hang in there..sending you love , hope and unwavering determination 💜💜💜 🙏 💓 MAKE 1-3 HUGE NEON POSTERS and /or a BILLBOARD To increase the chances that a neighbors calls for any possible sighting 💓 HUGE NEON POSTER in front of your home and near a busy intersection everyone tends to drive by in your neighborhood. . 💓 BILLBOARD Make a HUGE BillBoard using a TARP, duct tape and Blown up photo of kitty (kinkos or fedex) - to tie up either by freeway entrance or exit or if not near freeeway then at the busiest intersection near you to ensure everyone in the neighborhood is aware to call you upon sighting. 💓 Tip: Print 16”x20” of clear full body photo of your cat (crop the photo to remove as much background so it’s just your cat) Fedex Print stores charges $11 for one color copy, available overnight. Cut out your cat and glue/tape to each huge neon sign and for the Billboard. Denise Sam Pherigo Thank you so much for this!! There's some overlap with this guide that Kerina Pharr shared, as well. Some really useful tips, and some hope. https://www.facebook.com/groups/237333547421615/posts/1320784382409854?comment_id=1321199635701662

Tips for FINDING a lost cat. Cats that are not used to being outside, OR get spooked by someone or something outside, will find the 1st place to hide and HUNKER DOWN in SILENCE. They tend to remain VERY NEAR. Cats that are scared and in foreign environment will often NOT meow/ respond to calls even from their human (at first) ...though Kitty still needs to HEAR you and keep hearing you (until kitty THINKS it’s safe to come forward: that can take several days) - so do NOT stop calling out... Kitty is in survival mode and meowing would give away the hiding spot to predators. Outside is strange for indoor cat..with wind & loud noises. Be patient...Don't give up! Kitty is out there. CALL for kitty consistently throughout the day and ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT from 10:30 PM until 6AM (when it’s quiet, dark and cats feel ‘safer’ to move out of hiding). VERY important as this is how most people find their lost cats. Call for kitty in your NORMAL, CALM voice and wait. Shake treats (if that is something kitty normally responds to). I can’t tell you how many kitties come out of hiding during these late hours…(or you can hear meows then if they are trapped in your next door neighbors garage, shed or backyard for example). Put pieces of your worn clothing outside, post on Nextdoor
