Tan and white chihuahua looks a little bit older

Around 10pm I was driving down gulf to bay heading towards Clearwater beach and drove past a chihuahua running on the road right before Lake Ave. by the time I was able to get to and locate it, he or she unfortunately was already hit and past. I couldn’t move her/him due to traffic. Located in a left hand turn lane near gulf to bay and yelvington.

Lisa Stewart-Gilliam I was the one that made this post, thank you so much for going back for him ! The road was very busy when this all happened and I couldn’t get enough breaks in between traffic to get him up and out of there since he was in the middle of the road. I wasn’t able to stay and wait it out and I’ve been very upset ever since. I appreciate you so much for this

It's sad that no one stopped to get him to safety before he got hit. 😥 I rescue abandoned and injured animals whenever possible. I don't ever hesitate to stop and help an injured animal or even if one is deceased I'll try to move it out of the road before it gets squashed and unrecognizable. Where there's a will, there's a way! All living creatures matter.

So you stopped long enough to take a picture but just left him there. If he had just gotten hit he may have had a chance to live. I would have done mouth to mouth & tried to gently do CPR to try to start his little heart. Then rushed him to the vet either way.
