Message from Owner

Hello neighbors, Our beloved cat is missing since July 1st. If you have a garage, shed, or any other enclosed space, would you please check to see if she may have unexpectedly gotten trapped inside? She is a small, solid grey cat and is very shy around people she doesn’t know, so she may be hiding quietly if she’s inside. Please let us know if you see her or have any information. Thank you so much for taking a moment to check. We truly appreciate your help. Kind regards, Anne Visser Scott ln, Los Altos

****POST NEXTDOOR Check βœ”οΈ Humane Society, Animal Shelters In-Person DAILY. Some Keep Pets 5 Days then put up for Adoption. Boots on the ground - Walk ur neighborhood check window wells, under decks, inside bushes, sheds, garages, under or behind dumpsters, under staircases etc. Shake bag of cat food as u are walking calling out, calling by name, saying are u hungry, bring flashlight. Some Cats will hide during day and roam at night when it's quiet. Knock on doors and ASK permission to search their backyards. Post Flyer's on neighbor's doors

For the Beer’s people (I think you have most if not all of this covered, but in case something is beneficial): Please read the advice shared on the Missing Animal Response Network. They have a page specific to lost cat behavior. https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-cat-behavior/ If you have not already, visit neighboring homes and ask them to look into their garages and outbuildings, checking multiple times while sitting patiently, and quietly. Cats get scared when in strange places and won't necessarily bolt for the door when it is opened, and might not even run to a familiar person if they happen to be present. Also, post flyers - don't rely upon everyone having access to on-line posts. Check every logical and illogical place your cat may have gotten into on your property, to name just a few: cabinets/drawers β€” high and low; behind/under cushions on sofas, liners under sofas; closets; in garages/basements/sheds. Don’t forget to check in with local vets and animal shelters. Some have had success with placing a humane trap in their backyard - luring kitty in with a serving of their regular food; also with leaving clothing/blankets with your and/or their scent. If you have not already, post to Pawboost and/or Nextdoor. Each has their own audience and can be highly effective. Finally, for any reading this, please keep a bowl of water (ideally freshened every 2-3 days) in your garages/outbuildings for those instances when a neighborhood critter happens to find themselves trapped. Good luck, I hope to read a positive update on Beer soon!
