Description

Large sulcata tortoise

Message from Finder

Found in neighborhood and was unsure what to do with it. Got in touch with AZ GFD and they redirected to AZ Herpetological Society in N Scottsdale. I transported there since they have the facility to hold and care for the animal .

Bonnie Scarbrough this is an African sulcata tortoise. As a full-grown adult they are the third largest tortoise in the world and will exceed 150 lb s.. They need a large expanse of grass and plenty of forage in an inescapable space. They do not go into dormancy in the winter and they need an enclosed shed that can be kept at 80° or better during the cold months.
