Update: 12/07/24 Update: 08/08/24 Still missing and still not any new information or possible leads as to where my boy might be. I appreciate all of the kind words of hope and for all of you that have shared and been taking time searching. Please continue sharing so we can get this out to whoever has him and wherever it is he is located. Two weekends ago at Maple River Campground. An elderly man in a pickup truck was near the restroom building by the entrance of the campground and had with him a black and white Siberian Husky that has one blue eye and one Brown. and his name is Blue. The Elderly man asked someone if they wanted a dog and after a short conversation took place the dog was then exchanged between the 2. We are trying to locate the person that came into possession of the dog at that time. The dog belongs to me and is my state of Michigan registered service dog. He is almost 10 years old and has been with me since he was a puppy. The elderly man was not given permission to give the dog away nor was i even informed of when he did. My 7 yr old son and myself went to get him yesterday at the elderly mans hse (My grandfather in-law) at which time we found him to not be there. After a hour of trying to get him to remember anything about the person of anything all he could remember was that it was "campground maple". It is very important that I make contact with the individual that got the dog from the Elderly man as soon as possible to bring him back , before me by law having to file a report to state law enforcement. I don't want anyone getting in trouble when more then likely not even knowing the severity or depth of the situation. Please anyone with any information reach out to me. I need him to ensure my safety as well as the safety of my son. He needs to come to his family. Please share and help get this out as far as we can and help to bring him . I'm not trying to put my entire life story and personal detailed information on as to why he was temporarily caring for my dog as I was unable to do to my own sudden and very unfortunate life-threatening health issues he is supposed to be with me and always is always has been almost 10 years he has been in my son's life who is seven from the very beginning during my pregnancy and all. He has Carried Me Through a lot of trauma and I need him back with me. He is not just a dog he is my other half so please help him come .

Kenai Pearson, Yes, I did read it. But, you never know where the dog may be. This is is just general advice & people can apply it or leave it according to their situation.

Your "service" dog but he's at your grandfather (in laws 🙄) who could only after an interrogation, remember what bathroom camp ground he was at when he gave your dog away. This entire things reeks of lies and a typical horrid pet owner.

Terrie Spehar Nordness did you even read this!? The dog was given away to another person. Your advice to put the dogs toy on the porch isn't going to get the new "owner" to find their house and return the dog. 🤡

You should put out some of his food, some of his blankets, toys and anything that has his scent on it. Also set out some clothing that has your family’s scent on it as well. It may help him find his way back home Also, go out at night w/ some treats, shake the treat bag & also take a flashlight and shine it around. Dogs eyes glow at night, shine it around in the woods by your house, in any garages or sheds, under any decks / porches & under cars etc

All the above advice + Make sure you go to the shelters, animal control, humane societies & every rescue you can think of in person and check for your dog or cat as often as you can. Don’t rely on just calling to check for them. The shelters are understaffed and overwhelmed right now, they may not recognize your dog or cat from a description over the phone. And, put up flers & post on love of louie, next door, etc., etc
