Cats typically stay close to home. Cats can become disoriented and you will need to go get them. I have found mine under my home twice, once under a low deck. Another time under a neighbor's car in their yard. Go out when it's quiet and take a flashlight and a favorite toy or treat to shake when calling for them. Be prepared to crawl into a space to get them. Check crawl spaces with a flashlight. I had one that was so disoriented he didn't come to me and the flashlight caught the top of his ears. I had to crawl in and get him. I've found him in a bush another time. The flashlight caught the reflection of his eyes. The vet explained to me it's because they are territorial animals and can become disoriented. Put up flyers and ask neighbors if you might be allowed to look around for your pet. Post also on Next Door Neighbor and Pawboost. Alert shelters and local police.
