People find them and turn them into rescues…. My daugther and her family found a cat with one kitten dying under a tree as they were leaving for a party…. They stopped rescued both took them back to their home … called her Vet to find out the appropriate way to cool them down… Vet said the mama was a young mom and her male kitten was around 3 months old and so she did what he said… and contained them in a room with a fluffy rug and water and food and went to her party searching for any other kitties who could be part of her litter ….when they got home she spent 2 hours playing with them…. She tried calling every rescue in town and not one had room…. They all said they were over capacity and that this was kitty season and people just dumped them all over not caring if they die in this extreme heat and they said many of them do die… so my daugther filled out paperwork to foster them….Dogs are also dumped the dog we adopted was bait dog who had gotten pregnant and when she was ready to give birth and No longer be used as bait , she was thrown in the desert someone called the SPCA and they went out and rescued her but looked all over and never found her puppies…. We adopted her … she is half Pitbull/bulldog mix it took her a few weeks to trust my son and I and she has turned out to be a giant Lovebig…..But is ferocious around other dogs cause she still carries the memory of how they’d use her and abuse her….My daugther has 3 dogs 4 cats and 2 guinne pigs and 2 beautiful daughters who are like their mom and dad and love all animal both big and small… I was joking with her and said it was Lucky she hadn’t found a horse in trouble!!!!

I am so sorry about your cat. Keep posting on social media such as the next-door app, PetHarbor, pawboost.com, PetRadar.org, Ring app, Missing Rover, and so on. Put their pet bed or blanket outside so they can recognize their scent. It's also good to put food outside. If your pet has a microchip, call the microchip company to make sure all your contact information is updated and let them know he or she is missing. Go to the local animal shelter called The Animal Foundation on Mojave to check to see if animal control found your pet. Post up signs around your neighborhood. Walk around and talk to neighbors. Again, most pets are found close to where they went missing. Don't give up. Sometimes pets can go missing for a long time and then show up at your house or are found.
