Message from Owner

He may act feral. He is an indoor/ outdoor. If you call his name he should react. He may act very afraid due to being trapped and sent to animal control as a young cat. I trained him like a dog. He can sit, stay, come and shake hands. The tips of his ears are a little rugged. He has always been street smart. Please let me know if you think you have seen him.

Time is of the essence. Cats donโ€™t go far from home. Donโ€™t wait for social media to bring your cat home, you need to be proactive. Leave the door/window the kitty exited from open 24/7. If unable, then crack garage door open 24/7 enough to get in. Hang worn clothes and/or your pillow case in a tree or on top of shrubs to create a scent trail. Knock on neighbors doors ASAP with a picture asking them to keep an eye out. See if they can check Ring cameras for any sighting. Post signs with kittyโ€™s picture as many as possible, include surrounding neighborhoods. Go out late at night with a flashlight, shaking a bag of food, calling kittyโ€™s name, looking under shrubs for their shining eyes. Post on Ring, Nextdoor and check shelters. Donโ€™t give up. ๐Ÿ’•

Cheryl Simeister I post this mainly for the owner to post on other sites. I've come across people who don't know what nextdoor is etc .. that's unfortunate about your experience with the scan and animal control. Ive heard that chips can be difficult to scan and can move around inside the body making it even harder

Karen Kay he had gotten trapped by my neighbor as a young cat. Sent to animal control in Martinez. I went there and did not find him. Most black cats look alike. Next day I was emailed they had him because they were able to scan his chip. He had been there for a couple days because he acted feral. Finally was able to scan. So contacting animal control doesn't always work. He was in an area that I could not get into the day before I was there.

Kristy Smoot he's been there recently or in the past. Thank you for taking care with food and water. He is fed twice a day. The tips of his ears are scared from fighting with racoons. Hoping you see that cat again and can let me know.
