Our beloved cat Coco has been missing since Tuesday, July 21 from the area of 35th Ave W & Montvale Ct W. Coco is a black and white tuxedo kitty with short fur, weighing about 8 pounds. She is an indoor/outdoor cat and is very familiar with the neighborhood, so it is unusual for her to be gone this long. We are concerned she may have unexpectedly wandered into a garage, shed, basement, or other enclosed space and become trapped.

The best thing to do is to talk to your neighbors during the day to see if they have seen your cat. Do not rely on social media. The best way to find your cat is on foot by talking to people during the day and looking outside very LATE at night. See if your neighbors can leave their garages and sheds open for a few hours. If your cat is inside, your cat may not come out right away once the doors are opened. This is because when cats are in survival mode, they typically do not act normal. You can also print mini flyers and attach them to your neighbors' doors if they are not home. You can use painter's tape so that it is easy for the homeowner to remove. Post on Nextdoor & Ring App. It alerts neighbors in a 2-3 mile radius. Please make sure that your cat has a way to get back into your house 24/7. You want to leave open a garage door (including the door that goes from the garage into the house) sliding glass door, or window that they exited from as well as some of your recently worn clothing and/or shoes outside of the entry way. Your scent will attract your cat back to you. ***Do NOT put your cat's litter box outside as it can attract predators.*** It's VERY important that you look for your cat late at night. Between 11pm to 5am are ideal times to find a missing indoor only cat. 3 AM is the best time to find a cat as this is the time they become most active and responsive. Shake a bag of their favorite treats while CALMLY talking (in a normal voice) to your cat. Make sure that you pause after calling to see if you can hear your cat meowing. Use a flashlight and look for the glow of their eyes. Check up trees as well. Large neon signs up around the neighborhood help alot. Go into Seattle humane society and check and make a report. Pawboost.com helps and Nextdoor.com too
