The best thing to do is to keep smelly food out so your kitty doesn’t wander looking for food. You can put out some fish some canned fish. You can put a have a heart trap out, put something on the bottom and cover the trap so it keeps him warm. He he’ll come out mostly at night time so what I’ve always done and what worked for me is that from about 12 midnight to 5 AM Cats will wander so leave your door a jar a little bit you could put a stone in between the door and the door frame or washcloth rolled up into a whatever roll it up and so if the door shuts completely, it won’t shut completely lol and your cat will know to come in the door. My cats will just come in and they’ll find me and they meow and they let me know they’re in so I get up and go and close the door but leave food inside the door and then between midnight and 5 AM. I always take a nap from like 9 to 11 PM so if I have to work the next day, I’m not really exhausted, but you might need to do this because this will help you get your kitty back. Don’t rely on anything else so between midnight and 5 AM go outside. Your door should still be set so that he can get in sit on some stairs or a chair take a bag of dry food and shake it when you’re outside have some wet food out there. Call him quietly if you have a security camera check that to see when he’s coming around if you don’t have one, you can get them under $20 at Walmart and it will help you greatly to find your kitty OK and you’re gonna have to go outside and do this midnight to 5 AM several days in a row if he doesn’t come back, this is the best way to get your kitty. Don’t rely on other people and signs. Don’t rely on that. This is how you get your kitty back.

You can purchase a trap from Tractor Supply or Home Depot or Amazon or see if you can borrow or rent one from a local rescue or TNR group. Put a piece of your clothing with your scent on it inside and some wet food and set the trap and cover it with a towel (they feel more secure hidden) and monitor it.🙏❣️ remember kitties are naturally nocturnal, so they will hide during the day and move at night time looking for a food source or trying to get home. This is when most of us are sleeping.That's why the trap is ideal. Monitor the trap. If you catch a critter go ahead and release it and wash the trap and reset. They leave a smell behind which may deter your baby from going in. If you catch another kitty, you can always take it to a local vet or shelter for a free chip check and you might be able to help return someone else's missing baby home.♥️ also get a big sign in the front yard so in case someone does have or sees this baby and does not see this post, they can contact the owner that way. Also get lots of signs posted in the neighborhood. Keep checking on your local county FB group pages. You can search the group by "cat" to see all the cat posts only💗
