Lost Cats‼️ Indoor only cats and limited outdoor access survival mode. 3 AM is the best time to find a missing indoor only cat. This is the time they become most active and responsive. Sit and quietly call for your kitty. Try to stay low, standing is intimidating to cats. Place some dirty socks and a pillow case outside. Your scent will attract your kitty. If you have a garage, place the items near the garage door and crack the door enough for her to get in. DO NOT leave food or litter box outside, it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats. Because indoor only cats hide so well they are not as likely to be ed by a predator. Don't give up, it can take months to find a missing indoor only cat. Use a flashlight as late at night as you can to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of her eyes. The best chance of you being reunited with your cat is to do a methodical search of the area. Most indoor only cats will be within 160 feet of your home. Survival mode lasts 5 to 14 days but can last longer. Once their hunger gets to a maximum they snap out of it but this is a dangerous time because they come out of hiding. The majority of cats will try to make a break for home on the 5th night. In addition to posted flyers, make mini flyers and hand them out to your neighbors. Some people don't pay attention to posted flyers. It's VERY VERY important that you look for her as late at night as you can. If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that’s a good indication the missing cat is in that area. Wildlife and motion activated cameras are also helpful. a lot of people are successful trapping their indoor only cats. If you decide to trap, you must watch the trap closely, predators can a cat

Look after dark with a flashlight for glowing eyes. Check with neighbors to see if he got stuck inside a garage or shed.

Get colorful posters up QUICK! Put out stinky food in a bowl on top of a plate of water to keep the ants away(this idea was given to me by the local cat sanctuary guy). It’s best to feed at dusk and dawn because it’s quiet and cats are most active at those times. Put out large posters of your cat in front of your house and in the area where your kitty went missing, cats are usually within a five house radius of where they went missing. Do not give up looking, go out in the early evening and early morning when it’s quiet and call his/her name, put out a piece of his/her bedding but, don’t put out a litter box, it is more likely to get other critters and not him/her. Check the Humane Society in Cocoa, the SPCA in Titusville and Animal Control Shelter in Melbourne in person, just in case he/she was brought in, do not trust their website, they don’t always have the ability to post every animal that comes in. My Miles was missing for 16 days and he was less than a block away and being fed by some wonderful neighbors. He was found because of my signs and talking to people in my neighborhood, if they were breathing I was talking to them. I also printed up flyers with Miles picture and put them on mailboxes. If you do know where your kitty is and it’s been spotted you can borrow a live trap or box trap for a small donation from Space Coast Feline Network, https://www.facebook.com/SpaceCoastFelineNetwork/ All my best that your baby comes home soon, they usually do not go far, their instincts just kick in and may not come home immediately. Get out and talk to people in your neighborhood and DON’T GIVE UP.
