On top of that Penny has 5 week old puppies and they need to nurse!!! Would you please return her right away!!!! Lost on August 26th (It's been 8 days ) Has a collar with an airtag but the battery was low. :( It should be beeping. Hoping finder didn’t remove and toss. Description of the person that found her: white female approximately in her 30s with purple hair. Brought into a veterinary office to check for a microchip. The woman left no contact info. Penny was still wearing her pink collar at this point. But the vet tech didn’t notice an airtag. The Vet office didn’t ask the woman to leave her info.. Please DO NOT CONTACT THEM over this. 📍 A.R.S. § 13-2307 (Trafficking in Stolen Property) also applies when there is an attempt to sell, transfer, rehome, conceal, or otherwise profit from a found pet. 📍 Depending on the monetary value or breed of the dog, the finder can be formally charged with: Class 1 Misdemeanor Theft: If the animal's value is under $1,000, carrying a penalty of up to six months in jail. Class 6 Felony Theft: If the dog is valued between $1,000 and $2,000 (common for purebreds or certified service animals), carrying up to two years in prison.

📍 A.R.S. § 13-1802(A)(4) explicitly mandates that anyone who takes control of lost or stray property (which includes pets) must make "reasonable efforts to notify the true owner." 📍 Under this law, a person commits theft if they knowingly "control lost, mislaid or misdelivered property of another without reasonable efforts to notify the true owner." If you hold the animal without making those efforts, it is legally defined as THEFT.

📍 Did you know that pets are legally categorized as “personal property” in Arizona? 📍 That means that you cannot simply find a loose pet and keep it or give it away. 📍 Removing lost pet flyers to obstruct an owner from reclaiming their property is evidence of criminal intent.

Be careful. We almost got scammed by someone claiming our missing dog Oliver was struck by a car "in surgery " etc. requested my sons email to send him the invoice & info. Our family broke down in tears & it turned out to be an Ai scam! Humanity at its finest. 👹
