Description

Calico cat (tri-color ). Was wearing a light blue collar with a heart shaped purple metal tag with her name and our contact numbers. She’s 9 1/2 years old and weighs about 11 pounds.

Message from Owner

She is a 9 year old calico cat. Her collar is one that snaps off if she gets caught on something for safety. In case you find an adult calico cat without a collar please look at the picture. She also has a heart shaped mark on one of her back legs.

Spread some used litter around the house and yard area Look for her late at night and early in the morning when it is dark and quiet Use a flashlight to see her eyes Probably close by and hiding Keep calling kitty kitty calls and meow sounds Don't give up

Beautiful kitty!! Your cat needs to hear your Voice! You mentioned a golf course. Coyotes are known to hang out in golf courses! Extremely dangerous for cats. Coyotes are very very active at dawn and dusk. We live in Echo Farms and coyotes come into our neighborhood at night, especially when it was a golf course. We lost one cat to them. We didn’t know about the coyotes. So walk around calling her frequently everyday so that she knows you are nearby and she will come out of hiding for you because she recognizes Your Voice! Cats don’t usually wander more than 4-5 houses away. Keep your garage door cracked open 6 inches all the time, day and night. She needs a safe place at home to hide if she returns. She is likely hiding very close by. I would walk all around my yard every day several times calling her. And ask your neighbors if you can do the same thing in their yards. Females especially do not wander off, and she will be very cautious and scared outdoors if she is normally an indoor cat. Search around Dawn and Dusk also, because she will be less afraid to come out when it’s darker. Take a flashlight. Leave her used, smelly litter box outdoors in your yard, and also leave some of your unwashed clothing outside because cats find their way home by recognizing familiar scents. You may not know there are coyotes all over the New Hanover County and they come into many neighborhoods at night, searching for cats and other small animals to eat. Its because the forests here, the coyotes natural habitat, have been cut down for development. If you’re not aware, coyotes silently watch their prey for a day or two and then lay in wait to ambush them, they usually hunt in pairs. Many people here lose their cats, it’s so sad and it’s because the forests here have been cut down for development. Praying you find her. 🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕e

Put her litter box outside so she can find her way back. Cats go by smell. Also some of her favorite treats.

Don’t give up, one of my clients had their cat missing in landfall for five weeks and he’s home. Lost Dog Recovery Wilmington NC helped her. They told her how to set up a star pattern of feeding and cameras and that’s how they got him back. I would suggest calling them right away.
