Julie Ossowski You can have your opinion. Everyone I have ever talked to about this agrees with me. They have gotten their cats back

Greg Hegwood In your situation the cats are faster... what if an elder outdoor cat is lost outside? The litter box will make the surroundings more dangerous for them. Personal experience is not fact.

Julie Ossowski Actually it’s a proven fact that it works. As far as racoons are concerned they aren’t a problem because they have always been there and cats are faster than them. I have caught most of my cats in live traps. Once they get used to the good life inside they never want to go outside again

Greg Hegwood This actually has the opposite effect and attracts predators. They should leave the windows to bedrooms cracked open on ground floors. Sleep there. Cats will usually try to get back inside their homes during the very early quiet hours. They will meow or scratch the screens if they are there. Otherwise? Live cage traps. It sounds awful. But works. Also keeps them protected in a cage from other predators. Friends cat took 3 months to find and catch. She got neighbors to allow traps too. Her neighbor 5 houses down ended up finding them in the live trap and called her at 2am to tell her. She ran in her pjs and no shoes and was bawling with how happy she was to take him back home.

I thought I was posting under this post. I'm trying to see if they might be the same cat.

Is this cat a boy, or a girl??? I'm trying to figure out if it's a cat named Pete who is lost.
