Elaine Patterson yes there are a lot of scams out there. There is genuine concern too, and services out there that do want to help. I would think it's important to identify the scams rather than generalizing. With all due respect to the scale of operations like PawBoost, using blanket warnings to discredit independent tools is an unfair business practice. Lumping real technological innovation together with bad actors comes across as leveraging the public's fear of scams to run an exclusive promotion for an entity's own services. Broadly generalizing outside utilities as untrustworthy, rather than identifying actual fraudulent services, crosses the line into commercial disparagement and unfairly suppresses legitimate local solutions. It is heartbreaking to see lost pets out there, and to see finders who can't get those pets home on time. We all need to work together. And that includes supporting other sources that are offering services. We shouldn't be pushing legitimate services out or creating distrust around tools and people that are genuinely trying to help. I don't want to add any more because I think the focus should be on the current topic of the pet that has been lost. I just think things should be worded better as to not discredit businesses and services that are actually trying to help. I recently put together an app where a person can put in information about a dog that was lost (size, color, collar, etc.) and a dog that was found, and it puts a pin on a GPS map so you can see the general area. If there's a match, the app automatically matches them and sends a notification on the Facebook platform, which is a safe place for them to confirm. But these constant posts creating distrust make me not want to share it! Notices like these need to be reworded so they aren't promoting unfair business practices and pushing away people who are actually trying to help. If people notice a scam, they need to genuinely point it out—that's how you make people aware of actual scams.

Block that Audrey because it is a scam post! Also share to Lost and Found Dogs of North Carolina, Craigslist and the NextDoor app. Put up flyers in the area and go door to door if necessary. Also go in person to the shelter. Put some of your worn clothing outside so he or she can smell their way home better. I hope you get your baby back safe ASAP!

Pawboost no offense but does your post discredit anyone who might be offering the valid service by creating distrust? Or do you actually promote and encourage other services that might be tracking services or otherwise?
