If you have a lost pet, here are steps you can take to increase the chances of finding them: 1. Search the Immediate Area: Look around your neighborhood, calling their name and checking familiar spots where your pet might hide or explore. 2. Notify Neighbors: Let your neighbors know that your pet is missing. Ask them to check their garages, sheds, or any enclosed spaces where your pet might have wandered. 3. Create Flyers: Make lost pet flyers with a recent photo, your pet’s description, and your contact information. Post them around your neighborhood, in local stores, veterinary clinics, and pet-related locations. 4. Use Social Media: Post about your lost pet on local community groups, lost pet websites, and apps like Nextdoor, Facebook, or specialized platforms like PawBoost. Include clear pictures and details of where the pet was last seen. 5. Contact Animal Shelters and Vets: Inform local animal shelters, veterinary offices, and rescue groups. They might have seen your pet or someone could bring them in if found. 6. Microchip Database: If your pet has a microchip, make sure your contact information is up to date in the microchip registry. Contact the microchip company to report your pet as lost. 7. Use Familiar Sounds: Leave out food, water, and familiar items like their bedding or a toy at your home. Pets often return to familiar smells and sounds.
