MISSING CAT NEAR FARMINGTON LAKE Hi, everyone. On 7/24/26 my family and I went up to Farmington Lake for a picnic and decided to bring our beloved indoor cat for some fresh air and a change of scenery. She escaped from her leash and disappeared into the foliage. The first day we searched for 5 1/2 hours in daylight and at night all over the area in trees and bushes but no luck. The second day we went up again and searched for another 3 hours and we heard her meow softly but she did not come out and we still could not find where she was hiding. I assume, since she’s an indoor cat, she’s scared and hiding somewhere close to where we lost her. I have asked everyone I’ve seen up there to keep an eye out, I put up a lost cat sign on the log at the shady overlook of the pond where we were sitting (I think the coordinates are 40°58’28.9”N 111°49’03.0”W) I also left food, water, and a shirt for a familiar smell. This is the farthest she’s ever been from home. Obviously, being a cat mom, I fear the worst with all the fires and heatwaves, potential predators, if she’s injured or stuck somewhere and unable to get to a water source or hunt before we can find her. She is a great climber and hider though. I have reported her lost on multiple sites and I am in the process of getting missing posters to post around the area she was lost in and my neighborhood. I’m also considering hiring a missing cat detective or something (if I can find one) to go out and help me find her. My sister and I even tried using divination tools to locate her which sounds really stupid but we’re desperate to find her. We just thought, idk try anything! I can’t just give up trying. She is family. If she had gone missing close to home in our neighborhood I’d have a little more faith that she could either find her way back home or someone would find her easily, but since she’s up in the mountains I am extremely worried. If you are in the Farmington Lake area at any point please keep an eye out for her. Also, if anyone is available and able to help me form some sort of search party or just find her and bring her home safely I am more than willing to offer a reward. If anyone has any further tips on what I can do to locate and coax her out of her hiding place, someone I can contact, or better ways to get the word out, it would be greatly appreciated. Her name is Billie but her nickname is Beel. She is on the older side, but still active just a little lazy lol. She is white with grey/brown spots that look like a butterfly when standing/crouched or a heart when curled up. She has a black and grey stripey tail. Grey/brown markings over her ears. Black spots on backs of legs. Blue eyes. Pink nose with a little black spot underneath. Wearing a pink collar with my phone number and microchipped. She loves squeezy tube treats. Human food she likes is chicken and shredded parmesan cheese. She is a very sweet, silly, and vocal diva under regular circumstances, but she will probably be very skittish and quiet if found. Please share this as much as possible to get the word out. My phone number is if you have any information. Thank you so much for your time, consideration, and awareness. Again, if anyone can help me go up and search for her, I would really appreciate the help. I am absolutely devastated and feel so guilty. I just hope I can get my angel baby back home safe.

I have been up there for two days looking all over, but I don't have a vehicle I can take up that dirt road to find that location. I think a trap needs to be set and I have walked the lower portion of that area and cannot find that log setting with the overlook. If someone has a drone or an ATV.I would love some help in finding her

You probably need to set a trap at night in the last location she was spotted. Too hot during the day and cats hide and come out at night. Drape the trap with something with her scent and yours, put trap in a quiet area. She will smell the familiar scents. Put canned tuna in trap. Don’t leave any other food during the day except water. Check the trap first thing in the morning. It might take a few nights, be patient. She is in unfamiliar territory. You can also go to that area also at night and quietly sit and shake some food and call her name. Shine a flashlight in the bushes and her eyes should reflect the light. Hope you are able to get her to come to you.🙏

Make photo sheets with your info, leave with EACH home, business within at least 5 blocks each direction. Check ALL garages, sheds , outbuildings, WINDOW WELLS, cars, under car hoods, etc. Make a scent trail that smells like them & you to help them find home. Look online for tips to locate lost kitties during dark hours. I hope you find baby soon!💙🙏🏻🙏🏻 Also, check the shelters IN PERSON at least every other day.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. 🙏It sounds like you are doing everything possible to locate her and get her back to you. Since she is an indoor only cat, she is going to be in survival mode and even hiding from the people that she knows and loves She is going to be a terrified of coming out of hiding. Because of this, you are most likely going to have to trap your cat in order to get her back. I would reach out to a rescue that is close to the area where she got lost and see if someone there can set up a trap for her and be there to monitor the trap. It's very dangerous to leave a cat unattended in a trap as it can be attacked by predators. How far do you live from the location where she was lost? This website below ⬇️ has fantastic tips for locating missing cats from a woman experienced in cat rescue as well as templates for missing cat flyers. 🐱 It also has info on how to find your cat when it is lost in an unfamiliar setting & how to trap it (if needed). ✅Go to top of page where it says, "Click here for Important Tips on how to find your Lost Cat." ✅ Go to "CAT LOST-NEW TERRITORY- ( Not AT Home)" www.happycatlady.com Sending positive energy your way and praying for Billie's safe return to you ! 💕🙏💕
