Ethical breeders do take puppies out and about to socialize them. They are not “quarantined with the mother”. And they pay for every puppy to have a microchip so that they can always be traced and contacted if their dog ever ended up in a shelter. Ethical breeders take responsibility for the dogs they breed for life.

Lorna Lightle chips aren’t gps. You are putting blame on breeders. A good breeder the dogs don’t leave their mother they are quarantined with them. They aren’t going out shopping to grocery stores. Why would a breeder have to pay to have every puppy chipped?

Dave Blo not puting blame on breeders..but responsibility starts at birth. And if everyone had chips updated then many would get home faster.

Lorna Lightle no. Stop trying to put blame on a breeder. How about you dont leave your dog in your car while you go into a store? You cool with leaving your baby in the car? My dogs are my family I’d never leave them in the car alone.

Dave Blo supposed to update the chip. Paper trail can then lead back to breeders.. bigger chances of pets getting returned home. Just like with rescue dogs. Rescues chip them, owners update info, dog gets lost info can be traced back.
