Message from Owner

We are heartbroken because our beloved dog, Chopper, went missing yesterday, Thursday, July 16th, around 2:45 PM. I took him out to the backyard to go to the bathroom, and he unfortunately managed to get out. Location: He was lost near 3570 N Dequincy St (The main cross streets are E 36th St and N Dequincy St). Description: Chopper is a sweet, small Pomeranian. He is mostly black with a very distinct white patch on his chest and neck that looks just like a little bib. He has pointy ears and a big, bushy tail. Important details: He is wearing a military green collar, but sadly it doesn't have his name tag on it. He is also not microchipped. We miss him terribly. If you have seen him, if he is staying in your yard, or if you have any information at all, please reach out to us right away at or. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for keeping an eye out for our little guy! Please share this post. 🙏❤️

Stay put so your dog can come back following your scent. “Let the dog come back to you.” When you must go home, take a dirty sock, t-shirt, or underwear that has been close to your skin and place them outside of your home. This is another scent lure. Set up a “meat trap” using odorous meats. This is done based on investigative work. For example, after a neighbor saw your dog running up a hill, the meat and water would be placed at the foot of the hill. Broadcast that your dog is missing using social media, posters, and word of mouth. Ask people to report sightings rather than attempt to retrieve your dog. She will be frightened and run away again. Use sighting reports to use scent based lures like clothing or food. Leave doors open so that your dog has a way to get inside when they return home. Do Not: Leave the scene and start searching for your dog. You are spreading your scent and making it more difficult for your dog to come back to you. Close up your house so your dog has no way of coming inside when they return. Chase your dog or yell their name. This will only drive them further

Look under porches, sheds, decks, bushes and anywhere else he may hide and ask your neighbors to do the same also check security cams for sightings and also have your neighbors do this. You may want to contact one of the pet recover services for their help locating him as they have drones they can fly to look where you can’t and are savvy about trapping scared most dogs. I hope your cute boy finds his way home safe and soon. When he does get home, please get him chipped as that is the best way for lost animals to be reunited with their family.
