Please contact Big Dog Ranch Rescue. My dog looks just like that dog, so I think they’re from the same litter, and I got mine from that rescue. He should be microchipped . Any vet or rescue can scan the chip and reach out to the owner. Thanks for helping that sweet pup find his owners!

First report ‘found’ to your County Animal rescue. Then try to take him to a vet or animal hospital to check for ID chip if he has no ID on collar. Check Pawboost.com, LostmyDoggie.com, 24PetConnect.com, Nextdoor, Broward Co Animal Rescue, Humane Society, Petsmart under “Lost Dogs” tabs, and you can post under “found dogs” tabs. If an owner claims, require proof—photo of owner with pet, paperwork. If no owner claims, and you cannot adopt, do not give to Broward County Animal rescue or Humane Society as they will euthanize if no one adopts. Do not just give to anyone-there are some bad people out there. Only contact reputable no- per rescues in the tri-county area such as Good Karma Pet Rescue, Saving Sage, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue, or rescues in that county, to find a good home.

Thank you SO VERY MUCH for keeping this pet safe and ensuring that anyone who claims to be the owner IS in fact the rightful owner. Be careful…. The owner will be able to tell YOU the dog’s name, gender, color of collar and any identifying marks / characteristics. You shouldn’t post online (Facebook) any of the above info about the pet you found. And don’t share it with the possible owner. Let the owner of a missing pet give you the info about their pet. Request photos of their missing dog. See if the dog responds to the pet’s name the person gives you. See if the dog you found matches any description / characteristics they provide. The owner will also have vet records to share. Also please contact the local animal shelter and report this pet as found. Pet’s family should call there or go there looking for their fur baby. You should be able to foster the pet at your home, so that the pet doesn’t have to stay at the shelter. However, the shelter be aware that you found him/her. I also recommend putting a simple Found Dog in your yard and at your mailbox in case pet’s owners drive around looking for him or her. Also lets your mailman, neighbors and other delivery people know about the dog. They may hear of a missing dog and now will know you found one. And, it can be a good idea to walk the dog on leash around the neighbor to see if the dog leads you to their home and to see if anyone recognizes the pooch.
