These comments I added are best for all cats but especially skiddish. When it gets dark keep lights outside low and sit down outside the door. Soft familiar calls. Walking around can keep them in hiding. She’s not far and will want to come back when she feels safe. Key is to lure and make her feel safe to come out of hiding.

Leave an open access like an attached garage cracked about 8 inches 24/7. If the cat is left alone they will attempt to get back in when it’s dark, especially early am.
