If your cat has been missing, for nearly the entire year, in the woods of the Poconos, you don’t want to find it. She’s either already been preyed upon by a wild animal, or less likely, found herself a new home and caregiver, of her own choosing. It’s as hard to hear, as it is for me to tell you, and considering the hate that I know is going to come my way just for saying it, it still needs to be said. If your cat was raised indoors, she has no clue What to hunt or how to hunt it, and it for food. If she was under the age of two years old when she ran off, odds are high she would not even recognize you as a friend now. In the Poconos, We have 9 species of Hawk, 6 species of Owl, Eagles, 3 species of Poisonous Snakes, Feral Dogs, Coyotes, Coywolves(Wild hybrids), Bobcat, Fox, Raccoon, Bear, even rarely sighted Mountain Lions. All of which are animals that would actively prey on a Cat. We have Feral Cats that would beat up on it or chase it further away, and out of their territory. Basically, they will all want to Fight her, her, or Feed on her. Then there are Cars, Hunters, Target Shooters, Cruel humans, even somebody’s Pet Dog out there. We have Frogs, toads, and salamanders, that if eaten, can poison the eater. We have larger insects that will do the same. And that’s not even mentioning the Weather conditions: Rain, Sleet, Snow, Freezing temps, drastic temp changes that occurr in the matter of hours, instead of gradually. I can relate to, and empathize with your situation, I truly do. I’ve been there myself. But if you haven’t even seen her in the past 8-9 months, the odds are truly against you ever getting her back. I am not trying to dissuade you from holding onto Hope, but having Hope only prolongs the misery, and is only slightly better the the “Thoughts and Prayers” people are offering you here are. (If offering “thoughts and prayers” doesn’t work for the Republican Party, after Children are Mass Murdered in schools, then they definitely won’t help you find your Cat.) I’m so very sorry to be the only realist here to tell you that.😢

If all you folks really love your pets, you will put a GPS tracker on each of them.
