Message from Owner

This is Ziggy. Known to others as "Aerie ID#- A350879" at Peoria County Animal protection services in Peoria Illinois 61604. They had all my info and was aware my dog was lost. They found her 2 days after I was there looking for her and never contacted me, instead they put her up for adoption. So I contacted them and they assured me the cheapeat way to get Ziggy back would be adoption so I said ok and the next day, following their phone call to confirm that Im still coming to get her today, I said ya and before 5 oclock I was there to ID and pick her up so I ID'd her and filled out the papers and satisfied all their requests and then they kept calling her "aerie" and I said her name isnt Aerie, her name is Ziggy! And then their demeanors all changed and they didnt want to give me my dog back no more. They tried to say its cuz I said I didnt want her spayed or chipped but I said id do it so then they tried to say shes was already adopted out.. theyre lying and they still have Ziggy! I wouldnt strongly suggest not adopting any pets from this place. Youre probably adopting someone else's lost pet that they've been searching everywhere for! Seriously. Its pathetic. I never got my dog back. Still havent.

Sheila Schertz I just get frustrated seeing so many lost dogs and cats online. Yes, I've had dogs rush out the front door and I got them back within minutes. I never leave my dogs unattended in my fenced yard for more than few minutes. I teach them "Stop", "Stay", "Sit" before I teach them anything else.. I do have empathy for the guy but I also have empathy for the dog and I understand why the shelter was cautious.

Mel Meismer yes it should have been spayed. But the poor guy is suffering a loss at this time. It doesn’t do any good to put him down.

Sheila Schertz The dog should have been spayed and chipped before animal control picked her up. It makes me wonder if she had shots and tags.

Mel Meismer he agreed to do all that. Even with a fence pets escape. Try being emphatic for him.
