THANK YOU - I left the garage door open abt 8 inches and put some food and litter in the garage and sauntered past me abt 10pm last night!!! I believe the suggestions for food and smell of litter helped him find his way.

I have left the bottom of my garage door open with the door into the house open with enough egress for him to be able to enter without putting my dogs at risk.

Rent or borrow a humane trap. The SPCA and other animal shelters rent them out for $100. When you return the trap you get your $100 back. Place the trap near where the cat escaped. Put some of the cat's favorite food and treats inside of the trap along with an article of your clothing with your scent on it. This method worked for me on two different occasions. If you trap the wrong cat or some other animal, put a blanket over the trap leaving the door exposed. Stand behind the trap and release the animal. Reset the trap. Time is of the essence so do this asap. Good luck and God bless.

Leave an entrance open, even crack window that he can sneak back in under the cover of darkness. Many hide during the day and won't respond to being called , but will sneak back in if possible. Often between the hours of 1 and 4 AM.
