Put up large brightly colored signs in the area. Go online and notify the shelter since family will look there and legally it's required. Require proof of ownership/vet records and photos. Have the dog FULL BODY scanned (chips can migrate from the neck area) at a vets office for a chip, any emergency vet can scan too. PetSmart & Petco Banfield locations have scanners too, If the dog has a current rabies tag call the number and give them the vaccine number. Thank you for helping this baby. After checking with neighbors, can you take him/her to check for a chip? If they say no chip, please have them do several full body scans as chips can move and scanners can fail/be faulty. A woman brought a dog to the vet and they said no chip. They brought it to another vet who checked the entire body and found the chip.
