Description

Sun Conures

Message from Owner

My grandma and grandpas Sun conures escaped two nights ago, they try to put their cage in the patio for an hour or two a day to let them get fresh air and sun. There is a little small side door which opens to get their food bowl out. When feeding them they forgot to lock it and didn’t notice it when they put them outside. They didn’t want to let us know that they escaped because my mother and I have told them leaving the cage outside even for a couple mins could be dangerous. They are two sun conures named Eli and Eva, they don’t have leg bands but they are inseparable. They will scream for one another, so if you spot one the other won’t be so far away. Please try to avoid chasing them just email or text and offer them food to get them to come to you. Eli is more shy but Eva will fly onto peoples shoulders if you let her. Be careful with Eli he will nip you if he is scared. They have very bright colors and them getting hunted is a very big possibility. Please if anyone spots them reach out, my grandparents love these birds and caring for them is their world.

Posted on Lost and Found birds of the US. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1F8nH7XoBo/?mibextid=wwXIfr We are so sorry to hear your birds are missing. Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*
