Message from Owner

We have had Little Sister since she was 6 weeks old. My son was 4 when we brought her home, and he named her "Little Sister" because he wanted one so badly. Now my son is 12, has an actual little sister, and we all terribly miss our girl and want her home safe. She is a kind, smart, and courageous cat who always came running to check on my kids when they cried, and was never shy to let us know she wanted something. She answers to "sister" or "kitty cat," especially loves tuna-flavored foods and treats, and has slept curled up against my belly every night since before my daughter was born. I haven't been able to sleep since she went missing. Please help get our girl home.

Danielle DeMott Thank you but I can't quite tell if that's my girl. It also looks like the cat in the video is missing an ear.

Your kitty is probably not far, hunkered down and hiding. Try going outside between 12:30AM and 3:30AM, when the world is quiet outside, with smelly canned food and a flashlight. Flashlight will pick up kitty eyes in bushes, etc. She/he probably won’t come to you right away, due to being scared. Indoor kitties take on a whole new personality when they get outside. Be patient and talk in your normal voice. At some point, she/he will hopefully feel safe enough, and be hungry enough to come to you. Don’t give up! It took me 5 nights to get my kitty back once. Sometimes kitties get treed too, so check the trees within a few hundred feet of your place. Also check bushes, crawl spaces, sheds and garages nearby. You can also try putting some of your worn clothing and kitty bed or blankets, out on the porch, and keeping the door open enough for kitty to come in, if it is safe to do so.

🐱🐈 🐶 🐕 Good advice from (Facebook) Barbara Clemons. Many missing cats are hunkered down near their homes and may be afraid to come out or unable to find their way home. But cats have an incredible sense of smell and can detect familiar odors from some distance so try these things, all of which need to be placed outside in a dry place: 1. An item or two of your clothing that you have worn but not yet laundered; 2. A rug or blanket or plush toy of kitty's; 3. A dish of smelly canned cat food; be mindful of attracting other animals. 4. Use electric can opener outside so kitty might hear it; 5. A container with a cup or so of used kitty litter. 6. Play familiar sounds for them to follow. All of these items will create a veritable smorgasbord for your cat to recognize! Also, if you have a garage, leave the door up a few inches so your cat can get inside. 7. When posting, please include where your pet was lost. 8. If chipped contact the company your pet is missing. Good luck! I know only too well the heartbreak from a missing furbaby!❤ Smells could welcome unwanted guests? P.S. Should apply to many different pets?
