PLEASE READ. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. IF I HAD KNOWN THESE TIPS I WOULD HAVE MY FUR BABY BACK NOW! Go out looking for kitty. Start searching immediately. Don’t wait for him/her to come home on their own. Kitty is likely close by, may be scared and hiding. Take a can of tuna or smelly cat food with you or kitty’s favourite treats. Look under neighbours decks or steps but don’t give up. So many dangers out there such as coyotes, owls and not so nice humans. Kitty is counting on you. And...this is so IMPORTANT ....!!! If you don’t find kitty today, go out late tonight when it’s quiet and calm around midnight or later and sit on your front steps or back steps and talk out loud softly and say his/her name over and over like you are reading a story book. Be patient it may take some time and more than one night but if kitty is close s/he will hear your voice and come out of hiding. This has worked for me a couple of times. Also leave a window or garage door open so they can get back in when they come back. Good luck. Hope your fur baby makes it home soon. Don’t give up.

Most indoor cats hide close to where they escape from. Usually within 5 houses away. Call every 15 or 20 min at night until very early dawn. If you can, call all day as well. Hearing your voice may keep her from roaming further. She may take a couple days to appear but will approach when she feels safe. Don't stop calling. Its important to not stop calling. Your voice travels further at night and very early morning when its quiet and still outside. Walk around the area late at night calling. If you have a baby monitor or camera put it on your porch. I left food and water in the daytime but not at night due to wildlife. Most times they show up between midnight and 5 am. If you can, leave the door open for him all day. Walk slowly calling his name and walk towards your house while calling. He will follow your scent on the ground as well has know what direction you are calling from. Do this several times a day. Sometimes they slip back in if you leave the door ajar. Place the used litter box out on your porch as well. And check in the trees. He may have been chased up a tree.
