Tuxedo Cat with scars on his face

Message from Owner

We took this community cat to the Louisville, Ky - Newburg Humane Society back in August, for some medical treatment. He had wounds on his face & ears. I volunteered to take him since I also took him to the same Humane Society last year for similar issues. Only last year they kept me informed by way of text message, due to my hearing disability. And informed me of when they were going to release him back on our street. But sadly this past August they DIDN'T keep me informed nor reach out to me of when they were going to re-release him. So, when I had a follow-up with my doctor 2 weeks later in St. Matthew's. I stopped by Newburg Humane Society on my way with a cat carrier. I had my daughter with me at the time. The Intake officer remembered me and brought up his info, then informed us the heartbreaking news that set off alarm bells not to mention both my daughter & I's anxiety that they already released him....... 24 hours before a nasty storm that took out power throughout the city! We've been trying to find our Community Cat for the last 2 months. My neighbors and I got to talking about if anyone saw him, before the Storm. Or if the officer responsible for his release either got lazy & release him in a random area or if they released the wrong cat in the wrong area since that's been known to happen! I've went to Newburg Humane Society a few more times to get some more info since it was MY ID they used to admit him for medical treatment. I asked them to re-verify with the release officer on wth he was Released at & to check the trucks video feed. Which didn't happen and got blown off! We live in Valley Station in South Louisville, & we need help finding our streets community cat!

So they don't remember where he was released? Even though it's been a while, keep checking with your local animal control every week. Also, keep up missing cat posters near your home and also in the area where the Humane Society may have released. It's not unheard of for cats to go missing for several months, or even a year or more, and then return. Post on all local social media groups and see if there are any feral cat colonies near you where someone feeds regularly. If so, your cat might be hanging out near there for regular meals. And if the cat has a microchip, please notify the chip company. I'm sure you've already discussed it with other community cat caretakers, but if not, ask them to be on the lookout for your cat.
