Post on local lost and found pages on Facebook, Ring/Neighbors and also on Nextdoor app. If you can take the dog to Petco or any vet’s office they can scan to see if he has a microchip, there is no charge for that. If someone comes forward to claim ask for proof of ownership such as vet records or photos of themselves with the dog. If someone says they are with a rescue and offers to take him please contact the rescue and verify the information is correct. Unfortunately people troll these sites looking for free dogs to use as bait in dogfighting and other awful purposes. They will often send wives or girlfriends so as not to arouse suspicion. Being a puppy will attract a lot of attention attract attention of people wanting the dog, so just be very cautious. Don’t rehome him without actively searching for owners first.
