Immediately (NOW)walk area shake treat bag or Bang on cat food can calling for your cat multiple times during the day-and-night especially when it's quiet out. Look under all bushes and in between houses. Ask your neighbors to check cameras garage, shed backyard. Post on nextdoor, get family & friends to search every day. Search at midnight-5am too call for ur kitten, listen for her meow

Post on Kitty911 East County (K911) too! Tips for FINDING a lost cat. Cats that are not used to being outside, OR get spooked by someone or something outside, will find the 1st place to hide and HUNKER DOWN in SILENCE. They tend to remain VERY NEAR. Cats that are scared and in foreign environment will often NOT meow/ respond to calls even from their human (at first) ...though Kitty still needs to HEAR you and keep hearing you (until kitty THINKS it’s safe to come forward: that can take several days) - so do NOT stop calling out... Kitty is in survival mode and meowing would give away the hiding spot to predators. Outside is strange for indoor cat..with wind & loud noises. Be patient...Don't give up! Kitty is out there. CALL for kitty consistently throughout the day and ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT from 10:30 PM until 6AM (when it’s quiet, dark and cats feel ‘safer’ to move out of hiding). VERY important as this is how most people find their lost cats. Call for kitty in your NORMAL, CALM voice and wait. Shake treats (if that is something kitty normally responds to). I can’t tell you how many kitties come out of hiding during these late hours…(or you can hear meows then if they are trapped in your next door neighbors garage, shed or backyard for example). Put pieces of your worn clothing outside, post on Nextdoor

Most indoor only cats and limited outdoor access cats are found within 2.5 houses of the house they escaped from. Indoor only cats will be hiding out during the day and typically come out at night when it's dark and quiet as they feel more safe. The best thing to do is to talk to your neighbors during the day to see if they have seen your cat. Do not rely on social media. The best way to find your cat is on foot by talking to people during the day and looking outside very LATE at night. See if your neighbors can leave their garages and sheds open for a few hours. Your cat may not come out right away once the doors are opened. This is because when cats are in survival mode, they typically do not act normal. You can also print mini flyers and attach them to your neighbors' doors if they are not home. You can use painter's tape so that it is easy for the homeowner to remove. Post on Nextdoor & Ring App. It alerts neighbors in a 2-3 mile radius. Please make sure that your cat has a way to get back into your house 24/7. You want to leave open a garage door (including the door that goes from the garage to the house) sliding glass door, or window that they exited from as well as some of your recently worn clothing outside of the entry way. ***Do NOT put your cat's litter box outside as it can attract predators.*** It's VERY important that you look for your cat late at night. Between 11pm to 5am are ideal times to find a missing indoor only cat. 3 AM is the best time to find a cat as this is the time they become most active and responsive. Shake a bag of their favorite treats while CALMLY talking (in a normal voice) to your cat. Make sure that you pause after calling to see if you can hear your cat meowing. Indoor only cats are very frightened outdoors and will only come out when they feel safe. You may have to trap your cat as they will be in survival mode (sometimes they start acting a bit feral) and will not act the same way that they do in the house.
