My daughter found a female dog today, 9/2/26, around 1:30pm on the Gateway Community College campus. When she couldn't find an owner, she took the dog to a shelter nearby to scan for a chip, but the dog doesn't have one. We could temporarily keep her but have three other dogs and one of them has ITP so I am worried about keeping the lost/stray dog here without being vaccinated. If we could get the dog vaccinated, we could temporarily keep her until a rescue or home could be found. We don't know what to do because it is getting late, most rescues have a waitlist, and we don't want to take her to the humane society. I have posted on various Facebook sites to hopefully find an owner, but I'm not sure what else to do in the meantime. Are you able to take her? If you can't take her, do you know where we could get vaccination help so that we can keep her temporarily without posing risk to my other dog. She has a collar but no name tag. She is very friendly and loving. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
