Please help! Cheddar has been a part of my life for nearly 20 years! I knew I wouldn’t have much longer with him but I can’t lose my sweet guy like this!

Jennifer Henderson don’t give up hope! Make sure you’re checking your local shelters / pounds in person too. Incase they got ahold of him. When my boy was lost I would go every two days. Flyers will help the people who don’t have internet find y’all. People like to think the worst but it’s very possible he is taking a big nap on a nice family’s couch!

Sandra Lee Evans he just recently began exploring the backyard a little. I use to have a small section of porch screened in for him but I had to have my porch completely redone and it had to be torn out. But I didn’t mind him going outside for a nap. He’s old. I can’t see him going very far. I’ve searched my yard and have no idea where he could be. People keep telling me that he ran off to die. I’m just so worried that he just got lost. I can barely eat or sleep. I search every minute I can.

Jennifer Henderson oh. 😔 did he ever roam in the back yard? Best to post on Nextdoor and post flyers around your neighborhood. Cats don't travel far from home. Usually ~ 4 houses in any direction. Ask neighbors to check their security cameras and outbuildings and garages. Search your yard and nearby neighbors yards throughly looking underneath and behind everything. Check storm drains near your home. Normally, if they are indoor only kitties and don't roam outside in the yard/s a humane trap is the best way to recover them. Bait with Mackerel and tuna or Sardines. Cover the trap with a towel leaving the entry uncovered and unobstructed. Monitor trap closely from a window inside your home and don't leave trap unattended. If caught bring the trap into your home before releasing your kitty. Don't give up. Best wishes.

You can purchase a trap from Tractor Supply or Home Depot or Amazon or see if you can borrow or rent one from a local rescue or TNR group. Put a piece of your clothing with your scent on it inside and some wet food and set the trap and monitor it. I've seen many babies return home this way 🙏❣️ remember kitties are naturally nocturnal, so they will hide during the day and move at night time looking for a food source or trying to get home. This is when most of us are sleeping. That's why the trap is ideal. Monitor it early in the morning. If you catch a critter go ahead and release it and wash the trap and reset. They leave a smell behind which may deter your baby from going in. If you catch another kitty, you can always take it to a local vet or shelter for a free chip check and you might be able to help return someone else's missing baby home.♥️
