I am most grateful and appreciative for all the concern, networking, and wonderful suggestions. As soon as I was aware that she was gone, I printed out some Lost Dog posters, and put them around the neighborhood, I also put out a well used couch blanket on the driveway and I left the back gate ajar, just in case.. I also registered the loss with a service from Petco, called Love Loss and put my dogs chip number there. As it turns out, there was a match as soon as Ingham County Animal Control registered Baby. I got a notification from that website with a chip number match. The only unfortunate development is that the animal control and shelter facility, in Mason, is closed on Labor Day. I did leave them a message in case someone showed up to the facility and considered calling me today to retrieve her. Otherwise, I will call them and pick her up on Tuesday,. For now, It is enough that the shelter knows that Baby has an owner, and that she will be kept safe, dry and warm. I am heartened by all your efforts. Thank you again, to all of you. Jesse

Please put worn clothing and dirty sheets outside right away with your scent on it and your dogs bedding/blankets with their scent on it so they can smell/find their way home. I’ve heard dogs can smell up to a couple of miles. If you have a gate, leave cracked so they can get in. Please post on For the Love of Louie, next door app, Pawboost and ring app. Please contact animal control and local shelters.
