Description

Yellow with a pearl patch on her wing

Message from Owner

Hi, friends. Our cockatiel escaped today, and we are desperately searching for her. She was last seen in the yellow area marked on the map below. She escaped around 4:00 pm today (Wednesday 10/21) and was last seen flying at about 5:30. We expect that she'll stay in the general Blackridge area but aren't certain. Her name is Kit. She is very yellow and has a pearl patch on her wing. She is normally very friendly, but as this is her first time out on her own, she may be scared and hesitant to approach strangers. She will answer to her name, usually with a contact call that sounds like a loud WEEEP! She is a big muncher of veggies, fruits, seeds and nuts, and she also weirdly loves dog kibble. Please, if you spot her flying or in a tree somewhere, please contact Kat) or Lee). We are VERY worried about her and would love to have her home safe as soon as possible.

Lynne Watson DeMay I would add put fliers at local pet stores too. Walk around areas he was sighted at dawn and dusk calling for him. I’ve heard they stay close to home at first.

Kit was spotted near Osage Drive around 1:00 pm. Unfortunately, she'd flown off by the time we arrived, but please keep a lookout if you're in the area!

Posted on Lost and Found birds of the US https://m.facebook.com/groups/637611853061306/permalink/3750023961820064/?mibextid=Nif5oz To Kit’s owner: We are so sorry to hear your bird is missing. Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*
