Message from Owner

Hello neighbors, I am posting about my friend's lost cats. My friend is unable to do this themselves, but asked me to write this message: "Hello everyone, about a week ago my ex-roommate purposefully let my cats out of our apmt. I need your help in finding them! Tom Servo (orange/ cream male) and Crow (little gray cat with big ears female) are 3 years old and both have yellow eyes. They are micro-chipped. I was living at 135 Felix Street (near downtown). Both have been seen close by recently but I have not been able to recover them. I am a disabled veteran and Tom and Crow are my support animals and really the only family I have. I am devastated someone did this. Please help me find my cats! $$$ reward." Since the cats went missing, I have set up a humane trap near the apmt where they were living, using their favorite canned food to hopefully lure them back. I am aware of the dangers posed by coyotes, raccoons, mountain lions, and other wildlife in the area, but I remain hopeful that both cats are safe. Both cats were initially returning to the apmt periodically, but as of yesterday, neither has been seen. I have visited the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter in person to look for them and continue to check their found cat listings multiple times a day. I have also placed flyers throughout the apmt complex and surrounding neighborhoods in hopes that someone may recognize them or have information about their whereabouts. At this point, I am doing everything I can to bring them home safely, but I could really use the community's help. I know there are many missing animals in our community and I sincerely appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this, share it, or keep an eye out.

They may be together. Check in bushes and under cars near your home, and on the next street over, especially in the evening with a flashlight, calling out to them and making a familiar sound. Ask neighbors if they might have seen them, and when they last did and which direction they headed if they have. If the neighbors have security cameras, video footage would help. Ask them if they might be trapped in their garage or shed. I hope they are found soon🙏🏻

Key is to keep calmly calling your cats at all hours, especially the wee hours & looking for them, using a flashlight to help see their eyes…Look all around your house inside and out and under everything including greenery & especially in all dark places…Check high and low! Leave a door or a window open enough for your cats to potentially let themselves back inside! Try opening some smelly food like tuna or clams (do not serve them in the can) or rotisserie chicken & shake a food/snacks bag often! And I hope you have been checking daily at your local animal shelter! I sure hope the cats are safely home soon! 🤞🏼
