This Bengal was just found and posted by someone in Oakville. I know he's much skinnier than yours, but, could be from stress and not eating?

Notify police, post on Nextdoor and Ring if possible. Notify the chip company if chipped and make sure your contact info is correct. Hang flyers in the area and check 24petconnect. com. Post on Greater St. Louis Lost and Found Paws page if you haven't already.

If normally an indoor cat, then kitty is likely hiding real close to home. They tend to freeze in place and may not come out if you call their name. They are masters at hiding and squeezing into small spaces. Use a flashlight to look in, under, behind all dark spaces so that their eyes glow. You can do this during the day, but especially at night when things are quieter. Check inside the house as well just in case (dresser drawers, up inside mattress box spring, recliner, sofa, etc). Look up in trees and other high spots in case kitty climbed up to escape another animal. Do NOT put litter box or bedding outside as that can attract other animals/predators. Put some of your dirty laundry/worn clothing outside for the scent. Leave a door cracked open so kitty can get back inside. Set up trail cameras outside and use a humane trap that you can buy at a hardware store or borrow from a rescue. Ask neighbors to check garages and sheds. Hang LOST signs in your area. Post on Nextdoor app, Ring app, Pawboost, area facebook pages, and lost and found facebook pages. Make sure microchip information is accurate. Check local animal shelters in person. Check the 24petconnect website via zip code for intakes and be sure to click on Lost My Pet, select the filter to increase the radius beyond the 10 mile default. Be careful of scammers contacting you about drone services, pet tracking or stories that your pet is at the vet and money is needed.

I'm sorry kitty is missing. The number one piece of advice is to actively work to bring your cat home. Don't just wait for them to show up. Hang fliers--they work. Notify the microchip company that he is missing. Visit local animal controls in person. Notify local veterinarians. Post to the Next Door app for area lost. If kitty is normally indoors only he is likely very close to home. Sit quietly outside at night w a flashlight and look for shining eyes. Put out stinky sardines or mackerel. A trail cam can be helpful. You might need a live trap. Don't lose hope. Best of luck. https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-pet-behaviors/kitty-litter-myth/
