Nancy Roberts Unfortunately , if no one claims him , he's supposed to go and it is in county ordinances to the animal shelter over here in Inverness , so that they can put him online and see if they can find his Owner. It is not fair to the owner or the dog for you.To just take it and keep it as well as you could get fined highly for that.

Charlene Taylor if you can find out, please let them know. Some people do not use social media but they will call the shelter and animal control.

Nancy Roberts she cannot give him away. Dogs are considered property and have to go through the proper authorities - the shelter or animal control to have a mandatory stray hold. A shelter cannot even claim ownership to a dog until after that hold is completed.
