Carri Frank He’s a indoor cat but he’s snuck out before. I’m saying this is the first time he’s ever left for this long because usually when he jumps our fence he’s gone for a max of a hour or two. I immediately started looking for him when he didn’t come home.

I’m confused, you said it is the first time he has ever left for this long. What do you mean? Praying your kitty is found safe. Please keep us posted so we can update our feed. I am sharing this.

Sofia Green I don’t think her cat is an indoor only cat. She said it is the first time he’s ever been gone this long. That makes it sound like he’s an outdoor cat or indoor/outdoor. But your advice for people is very kind.

What is the lost cross street, make sure you will post and check nextdoor, petcolove local facebook groups, and neighbors by ring. Petcolove does a amazing job of matching lost and found if you report your missing cat on it, and it also includes lost and found posts on nextdoor, super useful and important.

What to do when indoor-only cats missing If your cat is microchipped, immediatly report missing and make sure the contact information is correct. When an indoor-only cat gets lost, they will not wander far away, and they are most likely very scared and keep hiding. It is very important to make sure you post and check everywhere online : nextdoor, neighbors by ring, Facebook local and statewide lost found rehoming groups, pawboost, and petcolove. Also check less popular websites like PETFBI and lostmykitty. If not chipped, check local animal control, humane society, and car rescues . Physical searching is key: the best time to look for a missing indoor-only cat is late night when everything is quite.Walk around the blocks with a bright flashlight: check under cars, in bushes, up trees and roofs, and storm drainage along the streets, and softly call cat name and shake treats. check your block and all the neighboring blocks, and expand the searching if not found Hand out flyers to neighbors and ask them to check garages, sheds, backyards, outbuildings. And also hand out flyers to local vets. Put your used clothes, cat blanket, food, and water at your front and back door, or crack your garage with the above stuff inside. Set up a trap in your backyard or the place that has a confirmed sighting at night, and cover it with your newly used clothes and cat blanket . Traps need to be monitored all the time.
