70 lb Bernese Mtn Dog. Black with white and brown face. White markings on chest. Brown markings on legs. Wearing pink collar with tags. Judging from recent sighting photo, she is no longer wearing the pink kerchief that is in her main photo. She has traveled a long distance originally leaving home in Chapel Hill 7/24/19 and recently sighted in Durham 8/7/19 (Fanning Way and Danube, then again around 4900 Denfield Street, Durham 27704). Buttons is very lost and confused! Owners are having trouble catching her because she is avoiding people and very much on the move. If you see her, please snap a photo if possible, note location and call or text 434-249-4283. She might come to someone if they kneel down and have (or pretend to have) food but otherwise will run away if she is chased. She's friendly, but again, very confused and disoriented right now!

Not very helpful at this point in time but I saw this dog Thursday or Friday morning (1-2nd) in the Falls of new hope neighborhood (Cedronella Dr). She was headed north. Still wearing a collar but not sure about scarf. Wish I had seen this listing earlier :-( I hope she will be home soon.

If you have any other dogs, try tracking with them first

Here is contact information for a pet tracker. He uses scent dogs to track missing pets to find the pet or at least narrow down the search area. He is affordably priced. You can also call him for advice. Tri-County Trackers Kernersville, NC (336) 407-5549 tricountytrackers@triad.rr.com R.V. Wakefield specializes in the art of tracking missing/lost pets. Owner (a neighbor of mine) says Buttons has been spotted five times since 7/24/19 in various areas of Chapel Hill. The last sighting was on 7/31/19 on Eubanks Rd. just west of MLK, Jr. Blvd. Please call us if you see her (contact info is above in the pawboost link). Buttons is shy and not too likely to come up to you. If you can take a picture, that will be very helpful, too. But truly, an immediate call when you see her with detailed location, no matter the time of day or night will give us the best chance to find her. Thank you so much for reading and sharing this! If you see anything on your Nextdoor neighborhood website, please share with us! Nextdoor site does not allow us to view neighborhoods outside of our own.
