Message from Owner

MISSING DOG: POSSIBLY PICKED UP, OWNERS NOT CONTACTED We are extremely concerned that someone may have picked up Charlee on Highway 101 in Geyserville. A witness reported seeing a woman lead her by the collar to the side of the freeway and look at her dog tags, which had our contact information. Despite this, no one has contacted us, and we have no confirmation that Charlee was turned over to animal services. Because of these witness accounts, we are urgently asking anyone who was driving on Highway 101 South near the Canyon Road exit in Geyserville on Tuesday evening, 10/20, between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., to please check their dashcam footage. Even a brief glimpse of Charlee, the black hatchback-style vehicle, or the man and woman could be incredibly helpful. Charlee is an 11-year-old female German Shorthaired Pointer. She wears a hot pink collar with our contact information and has a large, hanging growth on the underside of her abdomen. She also has a slit on the right side of her tongue that is visible when her tongue is hanging out. She is not microchipped. Two independent witnesses were confident they saw Charlee that Tuesday evening along Highway 101 South near the Canyon Road exit in Geyserville, very close to our home. We live on the frontage road alongside Highway 101. Our security camera captured Charlee leaving our property on Chianti Road at approximately 5:20 p.m. The first witness saw her running along the freeway shoulder around 5:45 p.m. The second witness reported that they and approximately five other vehicles came to a complete stop when a man and woman stopped to help Charlee. The witness saw the woman lead Charlee by her collar to the side of the freeway and look at her dog tags. The man was walking toward them from their vehicle, which was reportedly a black hatchback-style car. Once Charlee was on the side of the freeway, traffic began moving again. The witness could not confirm whether the couple put Charlee into their vehicle or took her with them. My husband and daughter went looking for Charlee around 6:10 p.m., but could not find her. Given the timing, the close proximity to our home, and the witness seeing the woman look at Charlee’s identification tags, we strongly believe she was picked up. We are desperately trying to find out where she is and whether she is safe. We have also received an unconfirmed report from a witness who saw a man walking a similar-looking pointer in front of the CVS in Healdsburg on Thursday, 10/22. We cannot confirm whether this was Charlee, but we are following up on every lead. If you witnessed anything, recognize the vehicle, saw someone with a dog matching Charlee’s description, or have any information about her whereabouts, please call or text us. If you are the person who stopped to help Charlee or picked her up, please contact us. We are not looking to place blame. We just want to know she is safe and bring our girl home. Karina: Jeremy: Charlee’s information has been provided to Sonoma County Animal Services, the Humane Society, and local veterinary offices. Please share this post and help us bring Charlee home. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to help us look for her.
