Message from Owner

My sweet kitty boy is missing. He did not come for breakfast Dec. 20 which is very not like him. I have been worried sick about him. He is a gray tabby short hair, about 5 years old. He is a chunky muscular boy weighing about 16 lbs. He is neutered. He was a stray who showed up at our hse a couple of years ago. Neighbors were familiar with him. He must have been raised lovingly from a kitten and then put out for some strange reason. He is very loving and sweet and will let anyone pet him. We call him Papa Kitty because we're pretty sure he fathered a litter of kittens that were born under our hse. All of the kittens are different shades of gray tabby, and one is very like him in many ways. He may come if called. He comes when I call him. He is an outside kitty because he is FIV positive and we have 3 indoor cats, all courtesy of the cat distribution network, and my son and daughter in law are afraid he will infect the other cats, otherwise I would keep him indoors. He has a nice heated hse where he stays during cold or rainy weather. He is vaccinated for rabies. No collar as I didn't want him to get choked on something. We have a friend who lost a cat that way and it was horrible. Not microchipped. So he wanders, usually in a small area near . We are in Rosewood on the west end of Charlie Braswell Rd. If you've seen him, please let me know!. I would be so grateful. He helped me through a hard time and I miss him terribly! Thank you!

I hope you find your beloved little boy. I know you are hurting. Please try and check out the colony that is close by. Animals will migrate to each other especially if there's food. Sending prayers.🙏

Sierra Reigh Jones Thank you so much for letting me know, I received your Message about the feral cat colony and asking how long I have had my kitty. I'm so thankful that you posted here. I am a bit wary of giving out my phone number. I think it's been about 4 years since we first saw him, but I didn't really start taking care of him until he was hurt in a fight and we took him to the emergency vet in Wilson. That's when we learned he is FIV+. I started feeding him then to try to keep him from wandering and getting in fights. He was staying fairly close to home and always showed up at feeding time or shortly after, I was worried that day he first missed breakfast. Can you tell me where the cat colony is? I would love to go see if he's there and will come to me when I call. I have been so worried that something has happened to him. I pray for his safety daily. He has been a real comfort to me through a very rough time in my life, and I miss him so badly! Many thanks for getting in touch!

Georgia-Sarah Jones Does your sister in law know vaguely where this colony is? I would love to be able to go close to where it is and call for him. Thanks so much!!

Georgia-Sarah Jones I have a feeling my boy wouldn't want to be in the house all the time even if I was able to have him inside. I think he likes to hunt. He's brought rats home!

Beverly McNamara Cotter I’ll ask my sister in law to keep an eye out, there’s a cat colony back there, that a lot of pets actually join, but typically if they’re not fixed, yours is though, but worth a look. I’ll see if I can get the exact location of it. I have a stray kitty that’s fixed, distemper/rabies vaccinated, dewormed, and flead in the summer especially, that will NOT relax in the house, I have tried so many times 😅🤷🏻‍♀️

Jayda Webb-Jones Thank you! I have been. Pawboost gives me a list of found cats from the Wayne Co. Animal shelter frequently so I'm keeping my eyes open.
