Message from Owner

My sweet kitty boy is missing. He did not come for breakfast Dec. 20 which is very not like him. I have been worried sick about him. He is a gray tabby short hair, about 5 years old. He is a chunky muscular boy weighing about 16 lbs. He is neutered. He was a stray who showed up at our hse a couple of years ago. Neighbors were familiar with him. He must have been raised lovingly from a kitten and then put out for some strange reason. He is very loving and sweet and will let anyone pet him. We call him Papa Kitty because we're pretty sure he fathered a litter of kittens that were born under our hse. All of the kittens are different shades of gray tabby, and one is very like him in many ways. He may come if called. He comes when I call him. He is an outside kitty because he is FIV positive and we have 3 indoor cats, all courtesy of the cat distribution network, and my son and daughter in law are afraid he will infect the other cats, otherwise I would keep him indoors. He has a nice heated hse where he stays during cold or rainy weather. He is vaccinated for rabies. No collar as I didn't want him to get choked on something. We have a friend who lost a cat that way and it was horrible. Not microchipped. So he wanders, usually in a small area near . We are in Rosewood on the west end of Charlie Braswell Rd. If you've seen him, please let me know!. I would be so grateful. He helped me through a hard time and I miss him terribly! Thank you!

Linda Hart Thank you so much! I pray he's warm and safe, especially with bad weather coming.

She got pneumonia, a complication that gets exasperated from having FIV but not because of FIV. She got sick. Whatever her litter had, she contracted and my guess is something like an upper respiratory disease and because she was immune compromised with FIV she had pulmonary edema and that's what caused her death not FIV. Sorry for your loss

Lisa Maccaro because of it she got very ill her lungs were non stop filling with fluid. She was FIV pos. They said we could bring her every day to have her lungs drained. We did not think that was a quality of life for her. It was top of the line cats at Cornell. They did everything they could.

You had to put your cat down for FIV? Are you sure it was that? Not FIP? Because if it was FIV I would sue that vet!

Beverly McNamara Cotter I don’t know my vet told me when we had to put our 2 yr old rag doll to rest (breeder didn’t tell us the rest of the litter in their first year from it) that had we known she was positive she could have been put on and lived a normal life.

Rose Henderson What please? I was under the impression that there was no way to treat it. Just be sure he gets health care when he needs it.
