Special is a very friendly dog! hse dog at that ! Friday night my upstairs neighbors ( college students) threw a party and at the time i didn’t know and just wanted to see what was going on! I feel that when I exited my apmt my special ran out due to fear of all the loudness ! I could leave my door open and she would never run out ! This time happened to be different. I continuously called her name and check every part of my apmt after I walked back inside but no site ! I panicked but thought I was over thinking because it’s been times she was tucked deep into cabinets because loud upstairs neighbors! So went to sleep just assuming maybe she may have hidden somewhere but when I woke up for work she wasn’t by my side!! I searched my apmt once again a felt numb when I didn’t see her .. she would have woken me up!!! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to call out due to me being a mail carrier and it’s political season ( or maybe I was in denial thinking my baby was just still scared and I would see her when I get back from work). I contacted my manager while I was at work to check certain cameras,, but unfortunately shesee her on the cameras didn’t go that way! This was probably the hardest work day I had (& we have a lot) but I contacted ACS for Long Beach,, when I got off and got back to the city ( I work in Santa Ana) I knocked on a neighbor’s door that lives across from me hoping they had a camera that may have caught her running out! I hadn’t made it home just yet but wanted to exhaust all options before I did get home in hopes that she would greet me at the door and I can tell them she’s home ,, rather than getting home not seeing her then going out to ask! When I arrived home I felt my mind was playing tricks on me because I thought I heard her at the door but when I opened it I didn’t get my usual greeting/love I get from her after a long day!! My heart sank and that’s when it really kicked in that my dog got out!!!! I’ve had her since 2015 and this has never happened!!!! I drove around my area for hours! Two individuals ( male & female) I stopped on 7th and rose and asked if they seen a little dog ,, the girl said yeaa! The young lady said I seen a little greyish black dog earlier today by 8th & cherry!!! I said are you sure she replied “yes but it’s was a few hours ago” ! She then said you know what look around northgate area!! I drove around the area exited the parking lot onto st . Louis ave (after I ask the burrito stands if they seen a loose dog ) . As I was driving I ran into a gentleman riding a E-bike or scooter w.e it is and asked him if he seen a small dog that was running around ,, a Yorkie . he replied that he had seen a little dog not to long ago .. he said some people were petting and playing with the dog and said the dog is very friendly? I said yes.. he then said let me look up the breed to make sure we are talking about the same dog.. he showed me and I said yes that’s it ! He said well if you go down a few blocks here there w.e ( basically trying to give me directions to where the dog and people were seen) ! Then he says do you want to follow me I’ll show you where are I seen it! I had hope but do know people play a lot ! Scam & etc. but the funny thing was that the place he led me to was literally a street over from where I live! And when I mentioned I live a street over he changed up and said wait we may have gone to far .. I got a weird vibe from him and said he man you have been a big help but if you , your friends or the people you say were petting the dog happened to take her in just give me my dog ,, I’ll pay you or buy you guys a dog just do the good deed of returning her to me please.. his voice got shaky and started to say he doesn’t live out here then said follow me to my friends hse ! Too much traffic was coming so I had to keep driving turned around and ran into him on the phone with someone and I said hey I’m right here ,, just tell me the exact place you seen her ( I told you I appreciate your help and don’t wanna hold you up) and he responded with I really just have to get home I’m so sorry,, I hope nobody kept her .. and I proceeded to looking for my dog!! It’s nobody’s fault but mine! But just know I would never put my dog in harms way ! It really breaks my heart that this happened!! I wish I would’ve never stepped outside that door to see what was happening!! & even if my baby special never gets returned to me I just pray she is somewhere safe!! 🙏🏾💙
