Perla Miranda, I know you’re not supposed to have favorites, but of my current three, she is my heart and soul, my everything. I have owned dogs for over 34 years, each one unique, each one a blessing, each one missed when they passed on, but I have never before felt the kind of bond she and I have. When she went missing I could not eat, could not sleep, could not breathe, thought I was losing my mind…the most disorientating feeling I have ever experienced. Still trying to process the whole thing.

Carl Mooney, thank you for your prayers...God had a hand in getting my girl home for sure. Her vision is cloudy and somehow, some way, for some reason NEVER having left home before, she managed to cross 2 (!) 5 lane highly trafficked roads and get over a mile from the house. I so wish I could track down the woman that found her on her front porch over 17 hours after she went missing…head and muzzle chewed up (vet said marks matched those that a raccoon would make). This unknown Woman Savior immediately called Animal Control. I had just visited the CV Animal Shelter to find out the process for dealing with lost pets (including Dead Animal Pickup), the ride back to my house took maybe 15 minutes and within 10 minutes of being home, Officer Cuevas called telling me she had my dog and would personally bring her to my house. Liv was in shock, I was in shock (I had not had any sleep for the past 32 hours) - Officer Cuevas was so sweet and compassionate and patient with me. I immediately took Liv to the vet for evaluation - was told she had no internal injuries, the head wounds were treated with antibiotics but bloodwork showed she has been infected with Leptospirosis from the infected raccoon. Vet said that had the timing not been as immediate as it was, long term liver failure (IF she pulled through) would have been the result. He could not stop shaking his head over the fact that she was not killed crossing those two major streets and saying “only a miracle helped her get home alive”. She is recuperating but it will take a while before she is back to her old self. She is my Heart Dog, my Warrior Princess, and I know with God’s continued Grace, we are going to make it. Over 34 years of owning dogs and this has NEVER happened before…this was and I NEVER want to go through this again.

Teresa Gonzales, please say one for me too…so stupidly insane right now I just reread the post that is now visible…said “call me 24/7” and I forgot to put the phone number. Tried editing the post but cannot get in to my account “invalid password” but will NOT let me reset it. I need a tech savvy person, since I am obviously not, to sit right beside me and help me calm down and sort everything out. (619) 829-5605 😭😭😭😭😭
